Doug began playing guitar in his teens, mostly taking lessons from friends and playing in several pickup bands in high school. After high school Doug played bass and shared lead vocals in "Viper" - a metal/hard rock cover band.

After 25 years as a fireman, Doug started jamming again realized how much he missed playing music with others and founded Trial by Fire in 2007. It's been a wild ride for the last four years but it's been worth every minute!
